Recent News and Notices   Full text of the announcements can be obtained from the department secretary. 2009-2010 Fall Semester Final Examination Schedule is available here     The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) has named Prof. Ahmet Enis Çetin an IEEE Fellow for his extraordinary work in contributions to signal recovery and image analysis algorithms.   Asst. Prof. Hilmi Volkan Demir received TUBITAK (Turkish Scientific and Research Council) 2009 Young Scientist Award for his international level, high-quality contributions in nanophotonics in the fields of nanotechnology and nanoscience.   Bilkent IEEE student branch received IEEE Region 8 Exemplary Student Branch Award and IEEE Darrel Chong Award.   Sedat Nizamoglu received 2009 SPIE Scholarship Award in Optical Science and Engineering (by the International Society for Optics and Photonics of SPIE) for his Ph.D. thesis work on the development and demonstration of Semiconductor Quantum Dot Nanocrystal Integrated LEDs for High-Quality Lighting. Sedat Nizamoglu received 2009 IEEE Photonics Society Graduate Student Fellowship.   Selim Olcum has received the "ASELSAN A.Ş.
