Math/Science/Engineering Electives

There are three Math/Science/Engineering elective course requirements in the curriculum. The total credit of these three courses have to be at least 9 units. All courses in this category are considered as being either Basic Science or Engineering Science courses. Students are required to take either one Basic Science course and two Engineering Science courses, or vice versa. Details of course categories and restrictions can be found here.

Humanities or Social Science Electives
There are two Humanities and Social Science (H/SS) elective course requirements in the curriculum. The total credit of these two courses have to be at least 6 units. Details of course categories and restrictions can be found here.

Unrestricted Electives
There are four Unrestricted Electives in the curriculum. These requirements may be satisfied by taking any four courses from any department/program in the University. Note that Elective EEE courses listed below may also be taken to satisfy the Unrestricted Elective requirements.

EEE Electives

There are six EEE Elective requirements in the curriculum. The following rules apply:

A list of EEE Elective courses that may be taken to satisfy the EEE Elective requirements are given below. In addition to these courses, EEE 5xx/6xx courses can also be taken to satisfy EEE Elective requirements.
Students may take at most two EEE 500 or higher coded courses as restricted elective courses.
For EEE Elective in the spring semester of the third year, students are encouraged to take either EEE 314 or EEE 352.
For the students taking the GE401/GE402, GE401 is counted towards fulfilling the senior project requirement and GE402 is counted as an EEE Elective.
At most one of GE402, EEE491 or EEE492 is counted as an EEE Elective.
