SUGGESTED READING FOR YOUNG PEOPLE
Most of the books suggested below are accessible to interested and
enthusiastic readers even if they have no background on the subject.
If you are interested in good introductory books in other areas,
please ask. Depending on the subject, I might either be able to help
or refer you to someone who can.
Most of the books listed here should be found at Bilkent University
Library. If not, let me know so I can have the Library order them.
I have listed only nonfiction works. If you are interested in
literature, including novels, short stories, or poetry, but do not
know what to read, I would gladly try to make some suggestions. I
might also be of help if you are interested in the cinema, although
cinema films are not widely available. I could be less helpful
with music and art.
Titles of works whose Turkish translations are known to be available
are indicated in paranthesis. I would be pleased to be informed of omissions.
