In this laboratory, a Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) was under development. Medical image viewing station with various image processing tools was developed. DICOM 3.0 standard was implemented using C++. Finally, a communication and storage system for use with Oracle database engine was implemented. The main processing tools were developed using C/C++ and the user interface using MS Visual C++ 5.0 on NT workstations. The DICOM 3.0 standard provides compatibility between various medical imaging devices and PACS systems.
