The site of Geneva-based Unite d'Imagerie Numerique Geneva
has some intersting and unusual aspects. In addition to providing an overview
of PACS implementation and the availability of some image manipulation
software that can be downloaded , there is a MEdArtImages section
containing a blend of art and medical images
3) Knowledge Finder:
Anyone accustoimed to searching for literatures
abstracts will appreciate this site. It is possible to search Medline
databases directly, using a standard Web browsing program such as Netscape,
or by downloading special software for enhanced results.
4) Radiology
Teaching from Central Middlesex Trust:
This site also offers a good collection of radiological
images. It includes the
George Simon collection of cardiothoracic cases,
as well as an American College of Radiology image museum complete with
ACR codes
5) The
Visible Human Project:
This is one of the best known radiological sites on the
Internet. The anatomically referenced CT and MRI data can be downloaded,
and there is an extensive list of addresses for other Web sites.
The numerous applications of the Visible Human data are demonstrated in
a variety of forms. This site, which is regularly updated, is not
stunning itself, but some of the linked Web sites are impressive.
6) RSNA Electronic Jounal:
The Radiological Society of North America Electronic
Journal was launched last year. It is a useful site that indicates some
of the differences that exist between paper-based journals and those designed
for the Internet. The site is well designed for use online, with an easy-to-use
method for moving between abstracts and articles. Hot links to other sites
are embedded in the articles.
