| Professor Orhan Aytür, Provost (Vice Rector for Academic Affairs), received his PhD from Northwestern University in 1991. Dr. Aytür’s research interests include optics and photonics, lasers, nonlinear optics, quantum electronics, optoelectronics, and optical sensors. Prior to joining Bilkent University, he conducted extensive research on laser technologies at the University of New Mexico and Fibertek, Inc. Dr. Aytür is a recipient of the TÜBÝTAK (The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey) Incentive Award and the Parlar Foundation Research Incentive Award. In addition to his academic work, Dr. Aytür has an interest in scuba diving and underwater photography. | |
