GenAI Policy

Please read and comply with the document "Guidelines for the Use of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) Tools at Bilkent" at

https://w3.bilkent.edu.tr/bilkent/generative-artificial-intelligence-genai-guideline/

GenAI will not be used in the teaching of this course.

At this time, we do not have any recommendations regarding its use in your own self-learning of the material.

We welcome you to share your experiences if you believe it is enhancing your learning as this can shape future editions of this course.

GenAI should not be used in any way in any assessments such as exams, homeworks, assignments, projects, except where it is explicitly permitted.

When permitted, a clear statement must be included explaining what tools were used for what purpose, even if GenAI generated material does not appear in your work.

When GenAI generated material appears in your work, you must unmistakenly indicate which parts of the work was AI generated and using which tool.

The best practice is to explain which parts of the work you used GenAI assistance for, including prompts you used.

Unpermitted use of GenAI for any assessment component will be treated as cheating and/or plagiarism.

Your submissions may be checked by tools to detect use of GenAI, in addition to usual plagiarism detectors.

However, your exams and assignments will be fully graded by people, not AI tools, and you will have the right to make objections to the grading.
